Creeping, clumping Florida native fan palm to no more than 6′ tall. Foliage silver or green (silver forms more highly prized), petioles edged in tiny teeth.
The strong-smelling pulp from the 1/2″ long black fruit has medicinal value (men’s health). A prized honey plant. Forms large clumps in FL pinelands.
