Strongly fragrant flowering tree to 50′. Foliage to 1′ long, dark green, slighly crinkly; flowers to 2″ wide, star-shaped, 5-petaled, white, in small clusters in leaf axils or even
directly on the trunk.
The flowers retain their fragrance for many years under the right conditions and have been found in Mayan tombs.
