Florida native shrub or small tree to 20′. Foliage coarsely pinnately compound, glossy green with pink new growth. Flowers Mimosa-like, to 1″ dia., pink or white;
fruit a gnarled 2-4″ brown pod that splits open to reveal black seeds dangling by red arils. Trunk multi-stemmed with rough bark. Pollinator-friendly.
