Aiphanes minima

This palm, also known as the Macaw Palm Tree, grows in the rain forests from the Caribbean and Hispaniola islands. It is a moderately slow growing palm and can reach heights between 25 – 50 ft. Spines can be found along the trunk, and upper parts of the leaves and flower stalks. It has a beautiful full crown with arching, pinnate leaves. Although adults can handle full sun, juveniles require at least partial shade to grow best. When in bloom, its flowers are fragrant, which produces bright red fruits when mature.
