Flowering tree to 35-75′. Trunk gray-green, thornless, buttressed with age. Foliage palmetely compound with 6-8 leaflets. Flowers showy, night-blooming, slightly fragrant,
with curled cream petals and numerous long reddish stamens that give the impression of a shaving brush. Fruit a 10″ long football-shaped pod that spilts open to reveal
numerous edible brown seeds.
