Massive deciduous flowering tree to 100′. Foliage even-pinnate, very fine in texture, appearing in rainy season and shed in fall; flowers small, Mimosa-like, greenish white;
fruit a distinctive dark brown ribbed ear-shaped leathery pod to 4″ wide. NAs one of the seasonal tropical forest’s giants, it needs a LOT of room to grow.
