Pritchardia forbesiana

This threatened Hawaiian Pritchardia grows on Moloka’i island and on the western side of Maui. Its short inflorescences, large 3 foot wide wavy fan leaves that are divided less than a third of the way with drooping tips and basal leaf stalks with copious amounts of web-like fibers are diagnostic. It grows to 30 ft with an 8-12 inch trunk. Its large black fruits are 1.75 x 1.5 inches.
