This is the fishtail palm genus with large bipinnate leaves sporting wedge-like fishtail leaflets from Thailand. The palm forms a single smooth columnar stem ca. 60 feet tall, but to 100 ft. in the wild, and is ca. 18-25 inches in diameter. It usually starts flowering and fruiting after 20-27 years and then dies.
