Syagrus cearensis

Syagrus cearensis is native to Northeastern Brazil, especially the state of Ceara. It was given the name Twin Palm, as it tends to produce two stems (sometimes more) from one seed. It grows to a height of 30 feet with a 7-8 inch stem. The fruits are almost two inches in diameter, usually with a flattened apex, not smooth, but covered with a fine lepidote.
