Syagrus amara

Syagrus amara is found on five islands in the Lesser Antilles and it is the only Syagrus that grows in the Caribbean. It grows to a height of 60 feet with a diameter of 8-9 inches, often surpassing the forest canopy and thus called the overtop palm. It is an attractive palm, self-cleaning palm with bright orange, hen-egg sized fruits.
