There is but one species in this genus and it is indigenous to Queensland, Australia. It grows to a height of 60 ft and a diameter of 6 inches. It has a crownshaft bearing 8 ft long leaves with wedge-shaped leaflets, split to their bases and radiating out in different angles producing a beautifully plumose aspect. The 2 inch, pink, red or brownish purplish fruits grow in pendant clusters. It is a slow grower, but a beautiful palm worth the wait.
