Coccothrinax borhidiana

This slow growing palm is native to Northern Cuba, growing along the coast. Although it has a slender trunk, it retains its older fronds creating a “skirt” with its alternating, rigid leaves. It grows best in full sun, but is tolerant of partial shade, and has purple fruit when ripe. It It is IUCN red listed as critically endangered.
