Slightly prickly salt-tolerant semideciduous shrub or small tree to 15-30′. Foliage trifoliolate, to 1/2″ long, directly on branches; flowers small, pea-like, yellow, appearing in abundance
after a rain; fruit small, papery, brown. Arching branches and interesting form make it a potential bonsai or Japanese garden subject.
