Arenga engleri

Starting bid: $7.00

The dwarf sugar palm or Formosa palm is native to Taiwan growing in moist forests and in mostly limestone habitats. This palm grows in clumps that are 15 feet tall as well as wide. The stems are often covered with a net of black fibers. Its pinnate leaves are 9 ft long with long leaflets that are jagged at their tips. Flowers are fragrant and the one half inch fruits mature to a purplish color. The flowering, fruiting stems die, but the other stems will continue to flourish.
