Large pollinator-friendly flowering tree to 100′. Foliage odd-pinnate, to 4″ long, with 5-9 glossy dark green leaflets; flowers pea-like, yellow to yellow-orange, held in
panicles that bloom in unison after storms; fruit a 1-seeded flat winged pod. Red sap once used for throat and stomach ailments (like others of its genus).
