Pacaya Palm
Solitary or lightly clustering feather-leaf palm to 10′. Trunks slender but sturdy, green with whitish rings; leaves to 5′ long, leflets variable; orange inflorescences bear 1/2″ lustrous black fruits.
Young male inflorescences pickled and eaten in parts of Central America (and may sometimes be found in Hispanic markets).
