Winning Bid: $19.00
Syagrus botryophora is from the Brazilian Atlantic Forest. It adds a meter and a half of trunk each year growing to a height of 50 feet with a 10-12 inch diameter. Initially it retains its lower leaves in an attractive arrangement, but once it reaches maturity, flowering and fruiting, it will drop its lower leaves and the palm crown will tighten up into a typical palm crown with strongly arching leaves with evenly spaced leaflets that are arranged in a V-shape. The name comes from its grape-like clusters of its yellow-green fruits.
