Plumeria sp. “Naples Big Leaf”

This stunning small tree is a cultivated form of Plumeria, often called the “Naples Big‐Leaf” frangipani. It is prized for its exceptionally large, glossy, dark green leaves and its pure white flowers with buttery yellow throats. When in bloom, the terminal clusters of five-petaled blossoms release a heady, jasmine-like fragrance that fills the garden from late afternoon into the balmy Florida evening. After flowering, the tree sets slender, paired seed pods which, once mature, split along their seams to release delicate, papery wings carrying tiny brown seeds on the breeze.
