Pink Silk-Floss Tree
Large flowering tree to 65′ with a greenish, spiky (especially when young) trunk. Flowers 5-petaled very showy, typical of genus, lavender to deep pink with varying levels of
white and/or yellow in the center, with a prominent staminal column. Fruit a 8′ green football-shaped pod filled with brown seeds encased in profuse white fluff.
Sometimes used as a novel street tree.
