Salt- and drought-tolerant flowering tree to about 50′. Foliage large, oval, rough with wavy margins and lighter-colored undersides. Flowers showy, long-stalked, yellow, held in
flattened heads; fruit a 2-6″ long flattened oval pod with a single opening down the front.
Unusual in cultivation in the US.
